WHAT IS A SKILL?

 

I define a skill as "The capacity to do something well; technique, ability". Skills are usually acquired or learned, as opposed to abilities, which are often thought of as innate. 
So from this definitely I can gladly say that no one is born with a skill, it is acquired and developed over time by constant practice and discipline.

WHAT IS AN HIGH INCOME SKILL?

 

This is an acquired skill which can make you a minimum of $10,000 every month.This is the general definition of a high income skill anywhere in the world, but I would define a High income skill as an acquired skill which can earn you a decent amount of money to live comfortably on every month. I won't mention figures because the value of currencies vary, but if your monthly earnings from a skill can give you a comfortable life, then that right there, is a high income skill.
We all know the popular list of high income skills we hear entrepreneurs talk about everyday,

Software engineering, Sales, Digital marketing, Copywriting, Web design,
SEO(Search Engine Optimization), Trade skills, and the list goes on and on. No doubt, all this skill are highly profitable, I believe they are other profitable skills some entrepreneurs don't often pay attention to.

Today I'm going to talk about 3 high income skills that are surprising very profitable enough to be termed 'High income'.

1. COOKING! 


As we all know, food is a need and is very important for survival, nobody can do without food. After a long day at work, or school, we will always come back home hungry and craving for something to eat.
Having said all this, you may have questions like 'How can I make a living out of cooking?'.
 It may surprise you to know that people pay has high as $10,000 to $20,000 for good food. How about working at expensive hostels or restaurants as one of their chefs?

How about working offshore for as a chef for offshore workers?
This are really great opportunities for you if you would want to take cooking as a skill. 
In my University, I happened to meet a friend, he was actually very quiet and reserved. 
He is very fair in completion you'd almost think he's an albino. He was business inclined so I loved talking to him. He was a chef at an Eatery in town and one day, he revealed to me how much he earns monthly. 
His salary got him a well furnished apartment and yet he complained how low he earned, compared to his coworker who earned approximately 6 times his salary. 
You can imagine how much money you could make out of cooking. 
One interesting part about cooking is that you don't necessarily need a College or University degree to become a great chef, you just have to be great at it and boom! You'll be making money in no time.


2. HAIR STYLING! 



Before we talk about the money aspect, being a hair stylist is actually fun if you are good at it.

You'll get to meet new people and you could travel the world as a hair stylist. 
Growth in living things is inevitable and unstoppable, and the hairs on our head isn't an exception.
From time to time people go to a Salon for a cut or a retouch. 
Now how can you make money from this? Have you ever stopped to wonder who exactly gives
Drake those amazing hair cuts that always makes him appear supper cool on camera?
Or how about Wizkid's hair cuts? not to talk of female celebrities like Rihanna, Cardi B, Tiwa Savage
and lots more who style their hair almost everyday. Their hair stylist are the once behind all this and believe me they don't charge regular price for it. Don't get me wrong, you don't necessarily need to be a person hair stylist to a celebrity to make good money they're other people out there who want to look good and you could charge higher than the usual price and people will pay if you are good at it. You could also make more money by tutoring people on it. 
You could learn this skill by either being tutored, or learning from the internet, all depends on the how fast you learn.
3. WOODWORK/CARPENTRY!



Before, in some countries like mine, it was believed that carpentry was a job or skill for the poor and this happened to be their only means of livelihood. Today I can assure you that you could make a whole lot of
 money from this. A huge percentage of furniture out in the world today are made out of wood. 
I happened to meet a carpenter some years back and we had a little discussion.
He specialized in making sofas for living rooms and offices. When I met him, he was working on a job he got.
So I asked him how much he charges per job, to my greatest surprised, his income per job is around 6 figures.
Imagine if he had 3 jobs in a month, that amount of money alone is enough to leave a very comfortable like,
or should I call it a 'low key luxurious life'. 
For this kind of skill, I'd advise you go for apprenticeship and also use the internet to develop your self. So there you have it, 3 High income skills you never thought were actually High income skills.
